What is it?

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Fashion and Textile Professionals is a 6-month Place-and-Train programme, offered by Textile and Fashion Industry Training Centre (TaF.tc). The programme aims to train mid-career individuals and equip them with the knowledge and skills to embark on a career in the Fashion and Textile sector and its related industries.

The 6-month programme comprises customised on-the-job training coupled with structured classroom training modules. For the classroom training, trainees can go through 1 of the 5 bundles listed below which has been customised based on the general industry’s needs.

1) Fashion Business
2) Apparel Design and Product Development
3) Footwear Design and Product Development
4) Bag Design and Product Development
5) Combination of 8-12 Professional Short Courses


Who can apply?

To qualify for the CCP for Fashion and Textile Professionals, you must meet the following criteria.

 

Candidates under the programme must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident aged 21 years and above
  • Graduated or completed National Service for at least 2 years, whichever is later, prior at the point of application
  • Must be newly hired, or an existing employee who has joined for less than three months and nominated by an eligible participating company for the CCP
  • Must have prior working experience in a job role that is substantially different from the new job role to be trained for under the CCP
  • Must be a Diploma holder and above, or have worked in a supervisory position prior to placement
  • Participant/company must not be blacklisted
  • Must not own a registered company in the fashion and textile industry
  • Must not be related to the CCP participating company and does not fall under the following categories:
    - Shareholder of the CCP participating company, or its related entities

- Immediate ex-staff of the CCP participating company or its related entities

- Related to the owners of the CCP participating company

All participating companies must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Committed to work with WSG and TaF.tc on the necessary administrative matters related to the programme
  • Able to offer employment directly related to the job which CCP is for, with remuneration aligned with market rate
  • Offer a full-time position employment contract on permanent terms or on contract terms that are no less than one (1) year
  • Company’s declaration that they will not seek to claim from other Government agencies for similar funding components

How does it work?

Participants will undergo the CCP with a training duration of up to 6 months, comprising 2-month classroom training at Textile and Fashion Industry Training Centre (TaF.tc) and 4-month On-the-Job training with the participating company.

Interested candidates can apply through Workforce Singapore’s CCP portal and interested companies can apply through TaF.tc.

The participating company will receive the following funding (up to 6 months) upon the fulfilment of the corresponding requirements.

Course Fee Grant:

For non-Small and Medium Enterprises (non-SMEs)

  • Full Course Fee:

$10,850 - $15,250 (excl. GST)

  • 70% Funding:

$7,595 - $10,675

 

Nett Fee payable by employers:

$3,482.85 - $4,895.25 (incl. GST)

For Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

  • Full Course Fee:

$10,850 - $15,250 (excl. GST)

  • 90% Funding:

$9,765 - $13,725

 

Nett Fee payable by employers:

$1,312.85 - $1,845.25 (incl. GST)

 

To note: Course Fee is dependent on the training bundle selected, it will be within the range indicated above.

 

Trainee passes all the required modules.

No Absentee Payroll (AP) claim is allowed for CCP trainees.

 

Salary Support:

  • Up to 70% of the trainee’s monthly salary, capped at $4,000 per trainee per month, for the duration of the programme.
  • Up to 90%* of the trainee’s monthly salary, capped at $6,000 per trainee per month, for the programme duration.
     
*The trainee must be a Singapore Citizen (SC) either aged 40 and above, or unemployed and has been actively seeking employment for 6 months or more.

Trainee remains employed in the hiring company for a minimum duration equivalent to the programme duration, after passing all the required modules.
