Security: CCP for Security Professionals
Reskill your competencies to take on new jobs
Accurate as of 15 Nov 2021
What is it?

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Security Professionals is a career conversion programme that provides aspiring mid-career individuals with an opportunity to join the security sector, performing any of the following functional areas:

  1. Operations – e.g. Operations Manager, Project Manager, etc.
  2. Technology – e.g. Security Systems Engineer, Security Technologist, Security Solutions Consultant, Business Development Manager (Security Solutions), etc.
  3. Compliance – e.g. Data Protection Officer, Quality Assurance Manager, Compliance Manager, etc.

Administered by Temasek Polytechnic - Security Industry Institute (TP-SII), the three-month CCP operates under the Place-and-Train mode and includes facilitated classroom training and structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) to prepare trainees for the new careers in the security sector.

For more information, please refer to the info-kit.

Who can apply?

The CCP candidate should:

  1. Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
  2. Be at least 21 years old;
  3. Have graduated or completed National Service (NS) for at least 2 years prior to the point of application; and
  4. Not in a similar job role prior to joining the CCP.

CCP-specific pre-requisites:

  1. Minimum ITE and above qualifications or held previous PMET job role; and
  2. Must be able to respond to security situation or crisis 24/7.

Meeting the above requirements does not guarantee successful enrolment into the CCP, as it will be subjected to the number of applications received versus job vacancies.

How does it work?

Applications received would be routed by the programme manager TP-SII to participating employers for review. Suitable candidates will be shortlisted for interview and successful candidates will be offered employment by the participating companies before embarking on the CCP. The three-month training will cover core security competencies as well as skillsets required by the employer and the job roles.

Frequency of runs: Ongoing intakes throughout the year, and depending on the availability of job vacancies from the participating companies.
