What is it?

The Career Conversion Programme for Facilities Specialists/ Technicians aims to provide mid-careerists with the relevant competencies and skills to embark on a career in the Facilities Management (FM) industry. This programme is managed by the Singapore International Facility Management Association (SIFMA) with funding support from Workforce Singapore (WSG).


Who can apply?
  •  Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents;
  • Minimum 21 years old;
  • Graduated from full-time studies or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least 2 years prior at the point of application; and
  • Not be in a similar job function prior to joining the conversion programme
  • Be hired and nominated by an eligible participating company for the conversion programme

Programme specific criteria:

  • At least a NITEC, Higher NITEC  or academic qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Engineering
  • Relevant experience in Engineering related domain such as Construction, Manufacturing, Semiconductor

What is it about?

Applicants received through WSG’s portal will be directed to the participating employers for shortlisting via the programme manager (SIFMA). Shortlisted candidates will have to go through the participating employer’s selection process, similar to normal job applications. Successful candidates will be employed full-time by the participating employers before undergoing a 4-months structured training programme (sponsored by WSG and the respective participating employers), comprising of:

  1. Facilitated Classroom Trainings (246 hours); and
  2. On-the-Job Training (394 hours)

Trainees will be assessed via different modes of assessments.
