Aerospace: CCP for Aerospace Officer and Aerospace Executive
Reskill your competencies to take on new job roles with good longer-term prospects
Accurate as of 31 Mar 2024
What is it?

Companies in the Aerospace sphere have displayed much resilience in overcoming the challenges brought by the recent pandemic and are on track towards full recovery. Growth and development in areas such as new, advanced, and sustainable aircrafts as well as the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) will inevitably incorporate both green and digital elements to existing job scopes. Join the sector and play a key role in the global transition towards new and advanced aircrafts and reduce the world’s carbon emissions.

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Aerospace Officer and Executive aims to lower the barrier to entry for mid-career individuals as well as existing employees to move into new or enhanced roles in the Aerospace sector. The programme provides employers with salary support to reskill these individuals, equipping them with skills, knowledge and competencies required for their new or expanded roles.

Managed by the Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore) (AAIS), the programme seeks to encourage and enable employers to optimise existing jobs and create higher value roles to attract and retain local talent in the sector.

Who can apply?
  1. Individuals who are from a non-Aerospace sector and switching into the Aerospace sector.
  2. Individuals who are switching to a different role within the Aerospace sector.
  3. Individuals who are currently employed in the Aerospace sector and will be embarking on a new or expanded or redesigned role within the same company.

  • New hires must apply and kickstart their CCP within first 3 months from their start date (nomination by company).

How does it work?

The CCP comprises three modalities, namely:

Modality

Duration

New Hire

Intra-sectoral/Intersectoral new hires who joined the company for less than 3 months

9 months

Redeployment

Existing Employee’s job at immediate / near-term risk of being made redundant

6 months

Job Redesign Reskilling (JRR)

Existing Employee’s job is being redesigned or at long-term risk of displacement

3 months

During the programme, individuals will undergo a structured CCP training programme, based on 100% structured on-the-job training (OJT).

Applications received would be forwarded to AAIS for processing and shared with employers with available vacancies for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s selection process, which is the same as that of a normal job application. The candidate has to be offered employment by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
