What is it?

The CCP for Cleaning Specialist (Disinfection Services) is designed to support companies to reskill their existing workers and/ or new hires to take on the enhanced role of Cleaning Specialist (Disinfection Services).

Under this 3-month CCP for Cleaning Specialist (Disinfection Services), trainees will undergo structured on-the-job training (OJT) and facilitated classroom training in ‘Environmental Infection Control and Management. Upon successful completion of the programme, trainees will be equipped with the necessary skills to work as a Cleaning Specialist (Disinfection Services).

Who can apply?

Interested individuals and employers need to meet the following criteria.


  • Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (PR)
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least 2 years prior at the point of application
  • Newly hired or nominated by an eligible participating company for the programme and
  • Not in a similar job role prior to joining the programme


  • Participating companies have to be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Able to offer employment directly related to the job in which the programme is for, with remuneration that is aligned with the market rate, paying a fixed monthly salary of at least $2,000 per month and
  • Offer a full-time position employment contract on permanent terms or on contract terms that are no less than one (1) year and must not be claiming from other Government agencies for similar funding components they have applied for under the Programme
  • Able to commit to the programme training arrangements for the trainees and work with the Progamme Manager (EMAS) and WSG on the necessary administrative matters related to the programme.

How does it work?

This is a 3-month programme that allows participating companies to reskill their existing workers and/ or new hires to take on the enhanced role of Cleaning Specialist (Disinfection Services).

Companies will need to design a 3-month training plan comprising both facilitated training in ‘Environmental Infection Control and Management‘ (8hrs) by Singapore Polytechnic/ Ngee Ann Polytechnic/ Republic Polytechnic and OJT (at least 520 hrs) to equip trainees with the following competencies to take on the new role:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety procedures
  • Methods and procedures of disinfection work in non-healthcare settings
  • Proper handling of disinfectant solutions and equipment
  • Steps on disinfection procedures and sanitizing surfaces at indoor and/or outdoor areas
  • Service Report Management and Customer Service Management
  • Management and disposal of biohazard waste

Programme Support for Employers

The salary support provided during the training period aims to help participating companies defray the cost of hiring and reskilling employees/ new hires.

For Long-term Unemployed^ Singapore Citizen (SC) trainees or mature SC Trainees aged 40 and above

^Defined as being unemployed and actively seeking employment for six months or more.
