In line with “30 by 30” vision to raise Singapore’s food production from 10% to 30% by 2030, the agri-food sector is being transformed into one that will be highly productive, enabled by technology. As a result, new jobs created will demand higher-level skills and competencies in areas such as science, info-comm technology, engineering and mathematics.
The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Agritech Operator is targeted at helping mid-career jobseekers reskill with the necessary competencies to embark on a career conversion into the agritech sector, which has exciting job opportunities such as Farm Technician and Operations Executive. Key job functions as an Agritech Operator may include, but are not limited to:
- Cultivate vegetables to meet timely and quality output targets
- Prepare nutrient and other supplies for cultivation
- Prepare equipment and systems for operational needs
- Inspect abnormalities to ensure quality of produce
- Conduct post-harvest inspection
- Filing of process records and quality check records
Republic Polytechnic (RP) is the Programme Manager of the three-month programme, which comprises of facilitated/classroom training by RP and structured on-the-job training (OJT).
