Other Service Activities: Career Conversion Programme for Technical and Corporate Professionals (8011733B)
Reskill your competencies to take on new job roles with good longer-term prospects
Accurate as of 31 Oct 2022
Please refer to ‘Contact Details’ below on how to apply for this Programme.
What is it?

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) is for mid-career individuals to undergo skills conversion and move into new occupations or sectors that have good prospects and opportunities for progression. Trainees will undergo structured on-the-job training to transit into the new job role.

Such tailored CCPs with companies help to address manpower shortage and bridge the skills gaps that jobseekers may have.

Who can apply?

Candidates who are mid-career new hires must fulfil the following criteria:
• Singapore Citizen (SC) or Permanent Resident (PR);
• Minimum 21 years old;
• Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, for at least 2 years;
• No bond obligation with any organisation;
• Individuals should also not be shareholders, immediate ex-employees of company or related entities, or be related to shareholders of the hiring company;
• New job role trained for under the CCP should be substantially different from previous job role(s), hence requiring reskilling for career conversion
• Able to commit to full-time employment in the participating company

To be eligible for enhanced funding, participants must be a SC mature worker and/or SC long-term unemployed individual, defined as follows:
• SC mature workers refers to individuals aged 40 and above
• SC long-term unemployed refers to individuals who are unemployed for 6 months or more as of the employment start date

How does it work?

Funding rates for CCP:

Salary Support / Training Allowance:
• Standard Rate - Up to 70% of Monthly Salary for CCP training duration (capped at $4,000 per month)
• Enhanced Rate (for SC mature trainee or SC long-term unemployed trainee) - Up to 90% of Monthly Salary for CCP training duration (capped at $6,000 per month)

Course Fee Subsidy:
• Standard Rate - Up to 70% of cost
• Enhanced Rate (for SC/PR trainees sponsored by SMEs or SC mature trainees) - Up to 90%*
• In-house training: Up to $9 per hour
*Additional 20% course fee funding top up under SSG’s Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy and Enhanced Training Support for SMEs. These are existing SSG schemes administered through the SkillsConnect previously and are now administered through the Training Partners Gateway.

Jobs Growth Incentive:
As the Jobs Growth Incentive (JGI) will also apply to jobseekers undergoing reskilling through CCPs, WSG has made temporary funding adjustments during the duration of the JGI.

For all new hires hired through the CCP for the period between 1 September 2020 and 30 September 2022 or the End Date, whichever is earlier:
(a) The salary support funding caps stated above will be halved (e.g. “capped at 70% and up to $4,000 per month” will become “capped at 35% and up to $2,000 per month”), and
(b) The salary support period will be extended to comprise of the training duration and an additional period of retention which is equivalent to the training duration (e.g. “4 months of training” will become “4 months of training and 4 months of retention”)
