CCPs are career conversion programmes targeted at mid-career Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) to undergo reskilling and move into new occupations or sectors that have good prospects.
About the Sector
Information and Communications (I&C) is a key economic growth sector that creates quality jobs and opens up exciting new opportunities for citizens. According to the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)’s Annual Survey on Infocomm Media Manpower 2020, the number of tech professionals employed across the economy grew by about 10,000 annually over the past few years, reaching around 216,000 in 2020. Demand will also extend beyond the sector into other sectors like finance, manufacturing, and retail.
Job Role Description (as per ICT Skills Framework)
- NetSuite Administrator
The NetSuite Administrator track maps to the Applications Support Engineer role in the ICT SFw. The Applications Support Engineer is responsible for the operation, support and maintenance of specific software applications, which may be built in-house or third-party software. The individual should have a deep understanding of the application’s functionality and backend. The individual oversees software testing and transition processes and provides necessary support when required. The individual is responsible for interacting with the application users and setting up, and on boarding of the users.
The individual works in a team setting and is proficient in applications development and monitoring tools and techniques required by the organisation. The individual is also familiar with the relevant software platforms on which the solutions are deployed.
The Applications Support Engineer uses critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems. The individual is passionate about analysing and resolving problems, and addressing technical challenges. The individual also possesses strong interpersonal skills.
2. NetSuite Data Analyst
The NetSuite Data Analyst track maps to the Data Analyst/Associate Data Engineer role in the ICT Skills Framework (SFw). The Data Analyst/Associate Data Engineer blends historical data from available industry reports, public information, field reports or purchased sources, basic data cleaning and transformation, and performs analysis to support business and product decisions. The individual uses development tools to generate reports, dashboards, clean and prepare the data and analytical solutions according to business rules and specifications. The individual is a part of important projects and coordinates with internal teams to develop projections on outcomes of implementing business strategies that result in actionable insights. The individual also assists in the data collection, processing and warehousing tasks, which may also include collection, parsing, analysing and visualising large sets of data.
The individual works in a team setting and is proficient in the analytics tools and techniques required by the organisation. The individual is also familiar with the relevant software platforms on which the solution is deployed on.
The Data Analyst/Associate Data Engineer is meticulous and detailed-oriented. The individual enjoys working with data and displays willingness to learn. The individual adopts an analytical approach to solving problems and displays confidence when communicating ideas.
3. NetSuite ERP Consultant
The NetSuite ERP Consultant track maps to the Systems Support Engineer role in the ICT SFw. The Systems Support Engineer undertakes complex projects related to system provisioning, installations, configurations as well as monitoring and maintenance of systems. The individual applies highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in systems administration and works toward continuous optimisation of system performance. The individual implements system improvements and instructs other IT staff in the resolution of most complex issues. The individual is required to be on standby with on-call availability with varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays to resolve systems related incidents.
The individual works in a team setting and is proficient in Infrastructure systems and Network related tools and techniques required by the organisation. The individual is also familiar with the relevant platforms on which the database is deployed on.
The Systems Support Engineer is able to quickly and effectively solve issues as they arise. The individual is able to methodically identify the cause of the issue, evaluate it and develop a solution in collaboration with the team. The individual is able to communicate effectively and displays high service level standards.
About the Programme
The CCP for Information and Communications Technology is designed to equip mid-career Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) to undergo skills conversion and take on enhanced roles in the ICT industry.
Under the CCP for Information and Communications Technology, the individual will undergo up to 100% of On-the-Job training (OJT), as well as optional structured classroom trainings (where applicable) to take on the role.
Training will be conducted over 3 – 6 months depending on modality. Upon successful completion of the CCP, the individual will be equipped with the necessary skills to embark on a career in an Information and Technology-related role.
