Singapore is a leading biomedical sciences hub in Asia and is home to various best-in-class manufacturing plants. The facilities here manufacture a wide range of products including active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), drug products, nutritionals, medical devices and high-quality instruments for the regional and global markets.
Administered by the Workforce Advancement Federation (WAF), the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Biomedical Manufacturing Industry is a talent development programme aimed at supporting companies through reskilling of mid-career new hires and existing workers to take on new job roles in the Biomedical Manufacturing industry. There are 3 modes:
- Place-and-Train (New Hires): Targeted at companies hiring mid-career individuals to take on a new job role.
- Redeployment (Existing Staff*): Targeted at companies that are undergoing business transformation/restructuring to retain existing staff facing immediate risk of displacement. Staff will be reskilled to prepare them for the new roles.
- Job Redesign Reskilling (Existing Staff*): Targeted at companies that are undergoing business transformation to reskill existing staff, where roles will be redesigned/ enhanced to remain relevant.

Through the CCP, individuals will be equipped with necessary competencies to further their career in the Biomedical Manufacturing industry. Acquisition of skills is done through structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) to enable individuals to take on job roles within the Biomedical Manufacturing industry.
