NOTE: From 1 July 2026, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and Workforce Singapore (WSG) will be merged to form a new statutory board, Skills & Workforce Development Agency (SWDA).

What is it?

WSG’s Career Conversion Programme for Tourism Professionals aims to support tourism companies to train new hires and reskill existing workers in growth skills for job roles with good long-term career prospects in the tourism-related sectors i.e. Hotel, MICE, Attractions and Tour and Travel.

Companies, in consultation with Programme Partners, can contextualize their own training plans consisting 100% On-the-Job Training (OJT), or a mixture of OJT and external training programmes.


Who can apply?

All participating companies must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Committed to work with WSG and its appointed Programme Partners on the necessary administrative matters related to the programme
  • Committed to design and implement a robust training plan to support the trainees
  • Is not receiving manpower funding for salaries from any government agency for operations
  • Not seeking double funding for similar funding components for the same activity (e.g. not claiming absentee payroll from SSG while receiving WSG salary support)
  • Have not and will not seek salary and cost recovery for the costs incurred to conduct training under the CCP (e.g. training bond imposed on trainee), or cost in excess of what the company has incurred.
  • Has not outsourced the hiring of CCP trainees to Employment Agencies (EAs) / 3rd parties.

 

All participants onboard the programme must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Minimally 21 years old
  • Offered a fixed monthly salary[1] of:
  • New Hires: $2,400 for Rank and File (RnF), $3,500 for Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs)  
  • Existing Employees: $2,300 for RnF, $3,000 for PMET
  • On a permanent basis or at least a 12-month employment contract. This can include full-time or flexi-load working arrangement (e.g. part-time employment)
  • Not shareholders[2] of the CCP participating company or its related entities (from the same group of companies as the CCP participating company based on ACRA or share common shareholders)
  • Not related[3] to the owner(s) of the CCP participating company (refer to individuals with shareholding per ACRA profile)
  • Not related[3] to individuals in the CCP participating company who have the authority to make decisions in relation to the CCP application. For example, an employee who is the brother of the CEO would not be eligible.
  • Not concurrently undergoing similar programmes funded by WSG or any agencies
  • Completed latest qualification or completed NS (whichever is later) for at least 24 months at the point of application
  • Must be reskilled on at least 2 new growth skills, of which at least 1 must be from the job-specific category, from the Whitelist

 

For New Hires

  • Not immediate ex-staff[4] of the applicant company or related entities
  • Must not have prior experience in a similar job role in previous employment[5] and have significant skill gaps
  • Newly hired and able to commence training within first 3 months of employment start date, or within 1 month from application approval date, whichever is earlier

 

For Existing Employees

  • Hired for at least 12 months in the company at the point of application
  • Not funded by WSG or any other agencies for the same project previously
  • Have not been enrolled for the same programme[6] before

[1] Fixed Monthly Salary = Basic Monthly Salary + Fixed Monthly Allowances

[2] Does not apply to shareholders who hold publicly traded shares in listed companies

[3] Refers to Spouse/ex-spouse, Children, Parents/parents-in-law, Siblings

[4] Defined as an individual whose immediate previous employment was with the CCP participating company or its related entities within 6 months preceding the current employment or attachment with the CCP participate company

[5] Individuals who have a continuous employment gap (without income from freelance work or self-employment) of at least 24 months prior to CCP commencement can be allowed to apply

How does it work?

Employers are funded up to 6 months of salary support, based on the following:

  • Up to 70%, capped at $5,000
  • Up to 90%, capped at $7,500 for eligible trainees aged 40 years and above, or Long-term Unemployed (LTU)

 

Employers can submit claims for salary support to the Programme Partner (PP) after training completion.
