What is it?

Note: This is a Place-and-Train programme

Singapore is home to manufacturing plants of numerous global Biopharmaceuticals companies. These world class manufacturing plants produce a wide range of products including small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), biologics drug substances and cell and gene therapy products.

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) Place-and-Train for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building a pipeline of skilled manpower in the Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing industry. Participants of the programme are employed by participating companies before they undergo the programme.

As new entrants, individuals will be equipped with necessary competencies to embark on a career in the Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing industry. Acquisition of skills is done through a combination of facilitated classroom training and structured on-the-job training (OJT) for individuals to take on manufacturing related job roles within the industry.


Who can apply?

To apply, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Graduated or completed National Service, at least 2 years prior at the point of application
  • New job role trained for under the CCP should be substantially different from previous job role(s), hence requiring reskilling for career conversion
  • Possess an Engineering/Science related NITEC (and above)

The CCP Place-and-Train for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Professionals comprises 15 months of facilitated classroom training and structured On-The-Job (OJT) training. Upon completion of the facilitated classroom training conducted at Singapore Polytechnic, individuals will receive an e-Certificate of Performance for participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate. The structured OJT will be conducted at Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing companies to facilitate the application of learning and to ensure that individuals acquire necessary competencies.

Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s interview and selection process and be offered a position by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
