What is it?

The Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Management Accountants is offered by Workforce Singapore (WSG) under the Adapt and Grow initiative, in collaboration with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC).

Overview of Programme

Developed by WSG, SAC and in collaboration with CIMA, the six-month programme is administered by CIMA and comprises structured classroom training, e-learning and On-the-Job-Training (OJT). The structured training programme is as follows:

Who can apply?

To qualify for the Professional Conversion Programme for Management Accountants, you have to meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore PR
  • Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, for at least two years
  • Individuals should have a Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent. Otherwise, Individuals who have a Diploma/ Degree in another discipline may be considered, on a case by case basis, if they have completed the foundational level of professional accounting examinations or have at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Individuals should not have prior working experience or in a similar job function in Management Accounting prior to joining the PCP
  • Enrolment for the PCP is subjected to the employer’s selection and hiring process

All participating companies must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Registered, incorporated and based in Singapore with a UEN registered with ACRA
  • Offer a full-time PMET position of at least a 12-month employment contract
  • Must be able to provide a structured training plan and a supervisor to guide the new hire

How does it work?

Participating employers will receive the following funding support, provided the corresponding requirements are met.

Salary Support

Type of Trainee Funding Support
Singapore citizens aged below 40 and currently employed The employer will receive salary subsidy of up to 70% of your monthly salary, capped at S$4000 per trainee per month, for up to 6 months.

Singapore citizens that are:

  • Above 40 year old; or
  • Unemployed and actively seeking employment for more than 6 months

The employer will receive salary subsidy of up to 90% of your monthly salary, capped at S$6000 per trainee per month, for up to 6 months. 

Singapore Permanent Residents The employer will receive a salary subsidy of up to 70% of your monthly salary, capped at S$4,000 per trainee per month, for up to 6 months.
