What is it?

Regulated by the Auxiliary Police Force Regulations and in support of the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the Auxiliary Police Forces (APFs) play a critical role in keeping our nation safe and secure. The Auxiliary Police Officers (APOs) safeguard key and strategic installations, conduct screening and checks at immigrations and checkpoints, ensure security of major events, and perform enforcement duties.

The CCP for APOs is a Place-and-Train Programme offered by WSG and AETOS Security Management Pte Ltd (AETOS).

The CCP aims to train mid-career individuals by equipping them with the necessary competencies to embark on a meaningful career in the Security Sector. Interested candidates may choose to become either Armed APOs or Enforcement APOs, subject to meeting the job-specific criteria. Armed APOs are required to provide armed responses.


Who can apply?

The candidate should:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Graduated or completed National Service for at least 2 years
  • New job role trained for under the CCP should be substantially different from previous job role(s), hence requiring reskilling for career conversion
  • Able to commit to full-time employment in a participating company

CCP-specific pre-requisites

  • At least 3 GCE ‘N’ Level credits and above qualifications
  • Meet course entry requirements for Basic APO Course
  • Able to perform rotating shift duty, including weekends and public holidays

For Armed APOs only:

  • Be physical and medically fit to pass Individual Physical Proficiency Test
  • Possess normal colour vision
  • Able to handle firearms

Applications will be reviewed by AETOS, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews


How does it work?

Selected candidates will be hired by AETOS before undergoing a resident training programme comprising the Basic APO course, as well as in-house training to additional skillsets required for assigned deployment duties. Depending on the occupation (Armed or Enforcement APO), the training programme ranges from 2 to 3 months.

Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will receive a Basic APO Course Completion Certificate.

Candidates will also receive the APO warrant card, subject to approval by the SPF.
