Infocomm Technology: PCP for AI Solutions Developer

What is it?

PCPs are career conversion programmes targeted at Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs), including mid-career switchers, to undergo skills conversion and move into new occupations or sectors that have good prospects.

Under the PCP for AI Solutions Developer, you will undergo a structured training programme by Lithan Academy to take on the role of an AI Solutions Developer.

The training, comprising classroom training and on-the-job training, will be conducted over 6 months, which will lead to the attainment of a Specialist Diploma. Upon successful completion of the PCP, you will be equipped with the necessary skills to embark on a career in an Information Technology-related role.

Who can apply?

Interested individuals and employers need to meet the following criteria:

Individuals

The Programme is open to all company-sponsored applicants who meet the following General Eligibility Criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen (SC) or Permanent Resident (PR);
  • Minimum 21 years old;
  • Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, for at least two years prior at the point of application;
  • New hires should be hired for not more than three months;
  • New hires must not be in the same job role prior to joining the PCP;
  • New hires must not be a shareholder of the PCP company, or its related companies;
  • New hires must not be related to the owner(s) of the PCP company; and
  • New hires must not be immediate ex-staff of PCP company or its related companies.

Course-Specific Entry Criteria:

  • 3 GCE A’ Level passes or equivalent
  • Language Proficiency: IELTS 5.0 or its equivalent.
  • Enrolment for the PCP is subject to employer’s selection based on job requirements and hiring processes that may include screening tests and interviews.

Employers

  • Registered or incorporated in Singapore;
  • Ensure that new hires cannot be:

A shareholder of the PCP company, or its related companies;

  • Related to the owner(s) of the PCP company; and
  • Immediate ex-staff of PCP company or its related companies;
  • Offer a full-time PMET position employment contract on permanent terms or on contract terms that are no less than one (1) year;
  • Offer employment directly related to the job which the PCP is for, with remuneration that is aligned to the market rate;
  • Commit to the PCP training arrangements for the trainees; and

Be committed to work with WSG and Lithan Academy on the necessary administrative matters related to the PCP.


How does it work?

Funding Support

Requirement

Full Course Fee

S$18,000 (excluding GST)

Course Fee Grant

of up to 70% of the course fee (excluding GST), subject to funding caps.

 

The trainee must pass all the required modules.

Enhanced Course Fee Grant

of up to 90% of the course fee (excluding GST), subject to funding caps.

 

The trainee must be either a SC/PR sponsored by a SME1, or a SC aged 40 years old and above.

Salary Subsidy

of up to 70% of monthly salary, capped at S$4,000 per trainee per month, for up to 6 months.

 

The trainee must complete the entire PCP duration.

Enhanced Salary Subsidy

of up to 90% of monthly salary, capped at S$6,000 per trainee per month, for up to 6 months.

The trainee must be a SC, either aged 40 years old and above, or unemployed and has been actively seeking employment for 6 months or more.
