Human Resource (HR) is a critical function supporting companies’ day-to-day operations, business growth and transformations in all sectors. According to the HR Jobs Transformation Map (JTM), HR practices are undergoing rapid transformation currently, with technology as the main driving force. Some existing HR job roles in HR practices will see a high degree of change in job tasks, requiring job redesign and reskilling in the next five years*. At the same time, new HR skills and job roles are emerging to meet the changing global and local business environment.
With the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) as the Knowledge Partner, the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Human Capital Professionals is targeted at mid-career individuals keen to embark on a career as HR professionals. As HR practice is sector-agnostic, individuals will have the opportunities to work in different industries or sectors, depending on the job opportunities offered by participating employers.
Mid-career individuals hired and placed under the CCP will undergo skills conversion, comprising On-the-Job Training covering at least two of the four Emerging Skills and Competencies (ESCs) aligned to the IHRP Body of Competencies. To facilitate effective acquisition of the selected ESCs, each individual will implement a work-based project during the 4-month training, guided by the appointed industry experts and supported by their respective employers.
Emerging Skills and Competencies (ESCs):
- HR Data Analytics and Visualisation
- Strategic Workforce Planning
- Knowledge in HR technology
- Change Management
(* The CCP also supports employers in job redesign and reskilling of their in-service HR professionals in ESCs. Interested employers may refer to the contact details and contact our Programme Partner for more information.)
