Under the Adapt and Grow initiative, Workforce Singapore (WSG), in collaboration with the Supply Chain and Logistics Academy (SCALA), worked together with the industry to co-develop the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Supply Chain Professionals.

The CCP for Supply Chain Professionals aims to equip mid-career PMETs with the necessary competencies to take up roles in areas such as solutions designing, data analytics, planning and sourcing, supply chain planning, project management, and supply chain engineering in both logistics service providers and non-logistics companies. The CCP matches PMETs to participating employers, and facilitate the reskilling of these PMETs to take on new job roles as Supply Chain Professionals.

The 9-month CCP is administered by SCALA and will operate on a Place-and-Train mode. Participating companies will employ the participants who will then go on a rigourous training that comprises

• 18 days of facilitated classroom sessions
• 12 days of Coaching / Mentorship sessions, and
• Customised, structured On-the-Job training (OJT).

Upon successful completion of programme, the participants will be awarded an Advanced Certificate in Supply Chain Management issued by SCALA as well as eight WSQ Statements of Attainment (SOAs).

Programme Support for Employers

The employing company will receive the following funding upon the fulfilment of the corresponding requirements:

^Defined as being unemployed and actively seeking employment for six months or more.  

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates under the programme must fulfil the following criteria:

• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident;
• Participants must be newly hired PMETs and nominated by an eligible company for the CCP;
• Must not be in a similar job role in the same industry prior to joining the CCP; and
• Graduated or ORD for at least 2 years.

All participating companies must fulfil the following criteria:

• Registered or incorporated in Singapore;
• Must offer the new hire a PMET job and issue a valid permanent employment contract. Full-time contract employment must be at least 12 months;
• Must offer the new hirer a PMET job which is different from his previous employment. Conversions can be inter or intra sectoral; and
• Must be able to provide structured OJT training for the candidate.

Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s selection process, which is the same as that of a normal job application. The candidate has to be offered employment by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
