What is it?

The marine industry remains one of the major contributors to Singapore’s economy, accounting for 6.9% of manufacturing output and 7.8% of manufacturing VA in 2015, with total employment of close to 76,000.

Singapore’s marine industry is anchored by the 3 major shipyards namely Keppel Offshore & Marine (KOM), Sembcorp Marine (SCM) and ST Marine (STM). Key areas of work include vessel construction and repairs, jack-up rig manufacturing and conversion of Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) units.

Who can apply?

Engineering or related background preferred.

To apply, you should:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
  • Be at least 21 years old;
  • Have fulfilled NS obligations or graduated for at least 2 years;
  • Be newly hired and nominated by an eligible participating company for the CCP; and
  • Not be in a similar job role prior to joining the CCP.

How does it work?
Full-Time / Part-Time :


In-house classroom training (WSQ/non-WSQ); External classroom training (WSQ/non-WSQ); and Structured OJT

Duration Of Programme: 6 months
Course Pre-Requisites :


Marine CCP is a 6-month programme which operates on a Place-and-Train mode. Participating companies employ the candidates before they undergo 6-month structured training. Customised training programmes are designed for different job roles, which are further tailored to individual’s development needs so as to equip them with the relevant skills and competencies for a successful career conversion. It may include in-house classroom training (WSQ/non-WSQ); External classroom training (WSQ/non-WSQ); and Structured OJT.

Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s selection process, which is the same as that of a normal job application. The candidate has to be offered employment by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
