Professional Services: PCP for Management Accountants

What is it?

The Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Management Accountants is offered by Workforce Singapore (WSG), in collaboration with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC).

The 6-month PCP is aimed at placing local professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) interested to switch careers to work in the accounting sector as management accountants, financial planning & accounting analysts and business analysts.


Who can apply?

For Individuals

All locals who meet the following eligibility criteria can apply for the programme:

  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore PR
  • Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least two years prior at the point of application
  • Individuals should have a Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent. Individuals who have a Diploma/ Degree in another discipline may be considered, on a case by case basis, if they have completed the foundational level of professional accounting examinations or have at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Individuals should not have prior working experience or in a similar job function in Management Accounting prior to joining the PCP
  • Individuals applying for PCPs should also not be shareholders, immediate ex-employees of company or related entities, or be related to shareholders of the hiring company. 

For Companies

All participating companies must:

  • Be registered, incorporated and based in Singapore with a UEN registered with ACRA
  • Offer a full-time PMET position of at least a 12-month employment contract
  • Provide job description for the trainee
  • Submit the CV of the trainee
  • Provide a structured training plan for the role of a Management Accountant, and a supervisor to guide the new hire.

How does it work?

Trainees will be put through 96 hours of training through classroom lectures, e-learning and case study analysis. Upon completion of the training, they will be awarded a Diploma of Management Accounting by CIMA.

In addition, trainees will undergo 840 hours of on-the-job training that is offered by the host company.

 

(A) COURSE FEE PAYABLE

S$7,980.00 (excluding GST)

(B) SALARY SUPPORT

  New hires between 1 September 2020 and 28 February 2021) New hires from 1 March 2021
Salary Support for New Hires on PCPs 

Standard Rate: Up to 35% of Monthly Salary (capped at $2,000 per month during training and retention period)

Enhanced Rate: Up to 45% of Monthly Salary for workers above 40 years old and long-term unemployed workers for more than 6 months. (capped at $3,000 per month during training and retention period)

Standard Rate: Up to 70% of Monthly Salary (capped at $4,000 per month during training period)

Enhanced Rate: Up to 90% of Monthly Salary for workers above 40 years old and long-term unemployed workers for more than 6 months. (capped at $6,000 per month during training period)

Period of Salary Support 12 months 6 months
